COMPUTER BASED TEST - CBT

NMC Test of Competence is meant for nurses and midwives willing to work in the UK. The competence test requires candidates to complete an online application process with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, UK.

​Part one of the Test of Competence is a computer-based test (CBT). CBT is a 3-hour test which splits into two.

​Part A: Numeracy with 15 questions. Duration 30 minutes

Part B: Clinical with 100 questions. Duration 2 hours and 30 minutes

The exam report is given to you directly after your CBT. Pearson VUE updates your account within 48 hours of your CBT.Click on the relevant exam entry in the ‘Exam history’ section. Your NMC Online account.The results will be updated within 48 hours of your CBT. Any further feedback on test results cannot be disclosed to candidates. 

You may sit the CBT up to three times as part of one application, with a minimum of 10 days between each sitting.
